Tamra J. “Tami” Kleitsch, 54, of Sumner, died unexpectedly Monday, March 12, 2018, at her home in Sumner.
A Visitation to Celebrate Tami’s Life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner. A private family burial will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery, rural Oran.
Tamra Jo, daughter of Larry and Jean (Rundle) Otto was born December 19, 1963, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Readlyn. Tami received her early education in the Readlyn Schools prior to graduating from Wapsie Valley High School in 1982. Following graduation, she continued her education at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids where she earned her Associate’s Degree. On September 21, 1985, Tami was united in marriage with Jim Kleitsch at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fairbank. To this union two children were born, Derek and Dana. Tami worked for Rockwell Automation in Sumner for over twenty years prior to working at Dr. Mortenson’s Office in Oelwein for the last several years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fairbank and Sumner. Tami enjoyed going to the river, her annual trips to Las Vegas, but most especially enjoyed spending time with her children.
Tami is survived by her husband, Jim of Sumner; two children, Derek Kleitsch of Sumner and Dana Kleitsch of Cedar Falls; one brother, Tim Otto of Ames; one sister, Sue (Jay) Willsher of Bettendorf; mother-in-law, Loyola Kleitsch of Fairbank; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken (Judy) Kleitsch of Morrison, Colorado, Mary Ann Kleitsch of Fairbank, Susan Shannon of Fairbank, Tom Kleitsch of Fairbank, Craig (Jeanne) Kleitsch of Fairbank, Gail (Denny) Goedken of Aurora, and Jean (Mitch) Sauerbrei of Fairbank; many nieces and nephews; and her and Aunts and Uncle, Marva and Dan Schuldt of Readlyn and Bev Otto of Denver.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Otto; mother, Jean Otto; father-in-law, Norbert Kleitsch; and brother-in-law, Pat Shannon.
